“THE ALBUQUERQUE ARTS SCENE IS COMMUNAL. IT’S NOT DIFFICULT TO GET INTO, AND ONCE YOU’RE IN, YOU’RE PART OF THE FAMILY. EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE EACH OTHER SUCCEED.”

A muralist and fine art painter, Noé adorns the streets of Albuquerque with his distinctive style. You’ve likely seen his work driving around town. It is unmissable and unmistakable. He paints with pure color and light, bringing street corners and the sides of buildings to life. His work is heavily influenced by Albuquerque’s distinctive culture and Albuquerque, in turn, is invigorated with each mural created.
“Being from Albuquerque, people want to tell you that you need to go to a bigger city. They tell you in Albuquerque, there’s a ceiling. I want to broaden horizons and show that it’s possible to do whatever you set your mind to here. I want to show that anything is possible in Albuquerque if you put the work in.”
The Early Beginnings
“I’m not sure what drew me to become an artist,” Noé shares with a reflective smile. “I like to say that I fell into being an artist. Growing up, I always wanted to be in law enforcement, following my dad’s footsteps. But life took its own turn, and here I am.”
At 22, unsure of his path after his law enforcement dreams didn’t materialize, Noé found himself at a crossroads. “I thought my life was over,” he admits. Yet, he took a leap of faith, embracing art as his major at the University of New Mexico. “It just worked out,” he reflects, embodying the essence of resilience and adaptation.

Painting Light and a Message of Hope
Through vibrant colors and profound imagery, Noé seeks to connect with his audience on a profound level. “I want my art to be approachable, to share my faith in a way that resonates with everyone,” he says, embodying the spirit of inclusivity and warmth.
For Noé, painting murals isn’t just about the strokes on the wall; it’s about the conversations it sparks. “Murals allow me to connect with people naturally,” he emphasizes. “I’m out on the streets, in the community, where everyone can engage with my art.”
From casual passersby to avid followers on social media, Noé’s art transcends boundaries, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among diverse audiences. “Art is for everyone,” he affirms, his murals serving as bridges between hearts and minds.
“I want my art to inspire,” Noé states emphatically. “To show that anything is possible, no matter where you come from.”
With each stroke, Noé seeks to ignite a spark of hope, resilience, and ambition within the community. “If my art can broaden horizons, even just a little,” he muses, “then I’ve achieved my purpose.”
“If my art can broaden horizons, even just a little,
then I’ve achieved my purpose.”
Elevating Albuquerque's Art Scene
“Albuquerque isn’t just my city; it’s my muse,” Noé declares proudly. “Despite what some may say, there’s no ceiling to what we can achieve here.”
His art is a testament to his love for his hometown, a visual ode to its spirit and strength. “I’m inspired by the people, the streets, the endless possibilities,” he enthuses. Through his work, Noé seeks to shatter misconceptions and elevate the city’s creative landscape to new heights.
Describing Albuquerque’s art scene as “communal,” Noé highlights its inclusivity and accessibility. “It’s easy to get into, and once you’re in, you’re part of a family,” he shares.
To aspiring artists, Noé offers simple yet profound advice: “Work at it. Improve your craft. Seek critique. And above all, believe in yourself.”
