Artists

Art Lovers

#TakePart by sharing your work however you can, supporting the work of other artists in town, and by contacting us to be an ambassador of this campaign! We are seeking all kinds of artists to highlight— your work matters, and the supportive, collaborative, fun culture we have in Burque is shaped by your innovation and vision. We’re thrilled to kick things off by featuring the marvelously talented Noé Barnett, Zahra Marwan, Casey Mraz, Felix Gato Peralta, and Sara Rivera.
Whether you live here or are just stopping by, the City’s Department of Arts & Culture invites you to #TakePart in all the exciting, inspiring, moving experiences happening in our community. Remember when we were stuck at home just a few years ago, with no place to go? Now is the time to rediscover what’s new, what’s revived, what survived, and how the creative folks among us are in so many ways making Albuquerque more vibrant than ever. Help support our local galleries, venues, and businesses by attending events, engaging with artists and each other, and inviting friends and family to participate with you!
Though we do have great city-sponsored outlets to experience and share art (like the Albuquerque Museum, the KiMo Theater, and the South Broadway Cultural Center, to name just a few), taking part includes non-profit organizations, privately run spaces, state-sponsored venues, and more around town.

“We want to invite everyone to celebrate art in all kinds of ways,” says Dr. Shelle Sanchez, Director of Arts & Culture. “We can embrace art in all its forms and discover new ways to find richness and meaning in our lives. There are so many ways to be involved and to support the creatives of our community as well as to boost our own creativity and connection to the world around us!”

As we expand this #TakePart campaign, subscribe to this monthly newsletter and get recommendations on what to do and where to go. Look for billboards around town. Find details on our Authentically ABQ homepage and connect with us on your favorite social media platform @ABQToDo. Use the hashtag #TakePartABQ to show us what the arts mean to you! Stay tuned, get connected, be inspired, and take part, Albuquerque!
